چکیده

BACKGROUND The purpose of this study was to investigate the feasibility of single-breath-hold whole-heart MRA with a 3-T system. Ten healthy male volunteers underwent single-breath-hold whole-heart coronary MRA at 3 T. We assessed acquisition time, scores of image quality of coronary artery (RCA: proximal, middle and distal, LAD: main, proximal, middle and distal, LCX: proximal and distal) and the visualized vessel length of RCA, LAD and LCX. FINDINGS Mean acquisition time was 37.7 ± 5.2 sec. Coronary branch was successfully depicted in 67/80 branches (84%) in the 10 healthy volunteers with diagnostic image quality. And, the average visible RCA, LAD and LCX vessel length were 83.4 ± 22 mm and 59.6 ± 24 mm. CONCLUSIONS 3-T MRI with single-breath-hold 3D whole-heart coronary MRA can yield adequate image quality. Further study is needed to evaluate the clinical benefit of this technique.

Contrast-enhanced whole-heart coronary magnetic resonance angiography at 3.0 T: comparison with steady-state free precession technique at 1.5 T.

OBJECTIVES To compare contrast-enhanced whole-heart coronary MR angiography (MRA) at 3.0 T and noncontrast steady-state free precession coronary MRA at 1.5 T in the same volunteers. MATERIALS AND METHODS Nine healthy volunteers underwent both coronary MRA using 3D FLASH with slow infusion of MultiHance at 3.0 T and 3D TrueFISP sequence at 1.5 T. Neither beta-blockers nor nitroglycerine was ad...

Whole-Heart Coronary MRA

Background MRI was first reported to visualize the ostia of the coronary arteries in the late 1980’s (1, 2). Tremendous progress has been made in coronary MRA ever since. One of the milestones was the acquisition of k-space data in a segmented mode (3, 4), allowing collection of an entire data set within multiple heartbeats. Early coronary MRA studies used two-dimensional (2D) technique to acqu...

A New Approach for Single breath-hold Whole Heart Coronary MRA Using Highly-Accelerated Parallel Imaging With a 32- element Coil Array

Introduction: Whole heart coronary MRA is typically performed with navigator gating because of the large data needed to achieve an isotropic spatial resolution on the order of 1-2 mm with extensive anatomic coverage (10-16 cm). Previous studies have shown that whole heart coronary MRA can be performed with either a single [1] or double [2,3] breath-hold (BH) approach using highly-accelerated pa...

Coronary Whole-heart MR Angiography: Feasibility of Breath-hold Chasing with Diaphragmatic Navigation

We propose a simple but novel data acquisition technique for whole-heart coronary magnetic resonance angiography (CMRA). In this technique, the breath-hold chasing MRA, data are collected during breath-hold intervals, with the navigation window manually adjusted to the diaphragmatic level. Compared with the conventional free breathing MRA, this method provided 33% reduction of acquisition time ...
